Details With the dream of “Creating Value Through Synergy” JAABS (Jahangirnagar Alumni Association of Business Students) has started its formal operation through an Inauguration Ceremony on 3rd March 2004 at Russian Cultural Centre, Dhanmondi, Dhaka. President of International Chamber of Commerce Mr. Mahbubur Rahman formally inaugurated its activities by switching on JAABS Website (www.jaabs.org). Mr. Rahman delivered his speech as the chief guest while Dean of Social Science faculty Professor Sheikh Monzurul Haque presented as the special guest. Mr. Mahbub urged the alumni who are mostly business executives, to prepare themselves for striving the challenges the rules and regulations of WTO that will be imposed from 2005. He added that unless a business executive engage himself in diversified and creative activities he can never be a perfect soldier to combat the hard competition of free market economy. The Dean of social science faculty Professor Sheikh Monzurul Haque expressed his expectation in his speech that the well-established alumni of the department can extend financial or non-financial help to develop the computer center, seminar library and scholarship fund of the department. The Chairman of Department of Business Administration of Jahangirnagar University Mr. Farhad Hossain presided over the program. At the second session of the program an election for the new executive committee for JAABS was held. Mr. Nazmur Rahim Sumon of 1st Batch and Mr. Rajibul Karim of 2nd Batch took over the charge of President and Vice-president respectively. Later popular singer Mina Barua, Pintu Dev and Anny performed a musical show.
